Every year the White River High School marketing program sponsors a trade show designed to help students understand the world of business. The sixth annual trade show will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the WRHS Commons, 26928 120th St. E., Buckley. Admission is free.

At the trade show, each student is responsible for representing a company of his or her choice by learning about the company, product line and creating a booth. Each booth will contain literature, pamphlets, posters and samples that have been provided by the students from the companies they are representing. Prospective customers will be able to learn about the different products and services. Approximately 75 different companies are expected to be represented including such familiar names as Gatorade, Buckle, Frankie’s, Bawls, Enumclaw Autoworks, Nation’s Foundation, Raging River, Pink Coconut, Sports Clips, Prime Fitness, Seattle Mariners and more.

This event is open to the community.

WRHS marketing educator Randy Wilson noted contacting business, building rapport, networking and preparing a presentation are skills that are vital to students who will be the future business owners of the community. Students will be assessed on organization, preparation, communication and follow through. Students are also responsible for gaining the knowledge necessary to field any questions that an interested, potential costumer might have. For information, contact Wilson at 360-829-5639.
