Drivers on state Route 410 in Bonney Lake could have a little more room to maneuver by early week, if the weather continues to hold.

According to an email update from Boney Lake Public Works Director Dan Grigsby, the paving of the new 233rd – 234th Avenue Intersection is expected to be paved by Friday, though the new traffic signal is not expected to be operational until Christmas.

Work also continues on the widening of the highway to four lanes of traffic. Concrete continues to be poured to build new curbs and gutters on the south side of the project with paving to follow.

Once paved, the four lanes will be open until work on the planned median begins in the spring.

In total, the $29 million, 1.49-mile project adds one lane in each direction of 410 from 234th Avenue to 214th Avenue with a raised median separating eastbound and westbound traffic.

The project also includes infrastructure improvements like stormwater treatment facilities, lighting and bus stop improvements.
