Barbara Jean Hood, 87, died on Dec. 1, 2019, in Enumclaw.

Barbara Jean Hood, 87, died on Dec. 1, 2019, in Enumclaw.

She was born Oct. 8, 1932, in Spokane, Washington, the daughter of the late Arleigh and Faye Weeks. Her family moved to Camas, Washington, where she met Les Hood. They were married Aug. 24, 1952, and following his military service they moved to the Maple Valley/Renton area. She ran the office and kept the books for B&H Painting for more than 25 years while finding time to be with family, attending sporting events, school plays and recitals for her children and grandchildren.

She was an avid bowler who participated in several leagues in the Renton area for more than three decades. She was also a longtime member of the Renton VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by sister Donna Heuvel; sons Larry Hood (Ritchie) and Lorne Hood (Connie); seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leslie, daughter Linda and siblings Harry Weeks, Arlene Murray and Sam Weeks.

A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Weeks’ Enumclaw Funeral Home, 1810 Wells St., Enumclaw, 98022. The family will host a reception to follow.
