Cathern Harston

Enumclaw resident Cathern Baird Harston died May 26, 2011.

She was born April 17, 1922, in Cowley, Wyo. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading and gardening and also loved to serve her church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by sons Richard Harston and wife Cassie of Gilbert, Ariz., Mark Harston and wife Karin of Buckley and Glen Harston and wife Diane of Enumclaw; daughters Vera Gifford and husband Tom of Enumclaw, Beth Harston of Enumclaw, Lorrie Broming of Edgewood, Wash., and Helen Davis and husband Randy of Amherst, Va.; brother Frank Baird and wife Georgia of North Edwards, Calif.; and sisters Helen Dickson and husband John of Arlington, Wash., Flora Miller of Fallon, Nev., Bessie Zeller of Lovell, Wyo., Alice Brownell and husband Ron of Enumclaw, and Rhea Willie of Provo, Utah; 35 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Harston, sister June Miller and brother Leo Baird.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 3, and at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, with the Saturday visitation at the LDS church in Enumclaw, 246 Semanski St. A service begins at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. A burial ceremony follows at Enumclaw Evergreen Memorial Park with a reception at the church following the graveside service.
