Donald Brevik

Donald “Donnie” Gene Brevik died July 23, 2025, at the age of 78.

A much-loved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and grandfather. Don Brevik passed away peacefully at home at the age of 78.

The youngest of five children, he was born to Oliver “Dean” Brevik and Sarah “Ellen” (Bennett) Brevik. Born and raised in Enumclaw, Don graduated High School in 1965. He joined the US Navy in 1966 aboard the USS Hancock an Essex-class aircraft carrier and did four tours in Vietnam. After leaving the Navy, Don worked for Noble Masonry for a bit. In January 1970 he met the love of his life, Juanita Fordham and by August 1970, they were married and living in Enumclaw.

In 1972 their son Kevin was born and 6 years later, their daughter Danette was born. Don was so proud and loved his family. He started working for Hinshaw’s Honda, working on motorcycles and eventually going to school to be a Honda mechanic for them. He worked for Hinshaw’s and a couple of other repair shops before deciding to go into business for himself. In 1990 he started Don’s Shop – Honda and Acura car repair and became known as “Honda Donnie”. Some customers would come from out of state to have him work on their cars. He worked on cars until 2016, that’s when he decided it was time to hang up the air tools and retire.

Don loved to do many things. Some of his hobbies were W.A.D.D. – Demolition Derby, riding his Harley’s, going to Arizona and North Carolina for the Nascar Races, and he liked working with stained glass. Some of you may have a couple of his bugs, angels or cars he made. His latest love and pride and joy was his 1929 Ford Model A “Buford”. He loved to go to car shows and show it off. He loved going to Arizona for the winter and coming back home in the summer! But most of all, he loved to talk and tell stories with everyone he met.

Don is preceded in death by his father Dean, mother Ellen, stepfather Tom Hawthorne, sister-in-law’s Linda (Olson) Brevik and Carrol (Ainsworth) Brevik and niece Tammy (Brevik) Holdner. Don is survived by his wife Juanita, son Kevin, and daughter Danette. His older sisters Doris Wallin, Dolores Hobart and her husband Jerry, older brother Gary and twin brother Ronald. Two niece’s, five nephew’s, two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Please no flowers, donations can go to your favorite charity or organization. His memorial service will be at Tahoma National Cemetery, September 5th, 2025 at 2:30pm. 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA. His Celebration of Life will be held September 14th, 2025 from 1pm-4pm at Enumclaw Field House 1456 Roosevelt Ave., Enumclaw, WA.
