Goldie Hauskins

Goldie May Hauskins, 94, died Dec. 18, 2010, of natural causes at her home in Havre, Mont.

She was born June 10, 1916, in Cains Store, Ky., the fourth of seven children to Ada (Eads) Pitman and Henry Pitman.

She married Charles Willard Kissee in 1936; later they divorced. She married Robert W. Hauskins in 1953 in Hoopston, Ill. She and Robert moved to Washington state in 1954 where she worked as a waitress in the fruit orchards and canneries. She then worked with the mentally handicapped at Rainier State School in Buckley. A work related injury forced her to an early retirement.

In 1973, they moved to Great Falls, Mont. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting and being with her family. She and Robert spent their winters in Georgia and Florida. He died in 1989. In 1992 Goldie moved to Havre.

She is survived by one daughter, Chestina “Tina” Webb and one son, Loyall Kissee and wife Barbara, both of Havre; one sister, Lola Klappsa of Enumclaw; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; four brothers, Robert, Herbert, Vertrise and Avery Pitman; one sister, Rose Dick and one grandson, Jeffrey Noya.

Funeral service will take place at O’Connor Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 29, in Great Falls, Mont., with burial to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Condolences may be left for the family at www.oconnorfuneralhome.com.
