John L. “Jack” Evans died June 12, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Enumclaw.

He was born March 13, 1936, in Buckley. The family moved to Mud Mountain Dam housing which became the family home until 1952. He and his high school sweetheart Shirley Board were married in 1955. He joined the Corps of Engineers out of high school as part of the survey crew. During this time, he and his wife traveled to Montana, Idaho, etc., and, as the daughters came along, he transferred to Mud Mountain Dam. As the years progressed, he became project manager of Mud Mountain and Howard Hanson dams, retiring in 1991.

He loved trail riding at Tumac and Coral Pass with his friends, his annual elk hunting trips, fishing, mowing the yard and caring for his horses.

He is survived by his wife Shirley; daughters Cindy (Bob), Jolene and LeAnn; sister Jolene Wassell; and sister-in-law Vicki Admaski (Norm).
