John Lind

John LeRoy Lind, 64, recently of Vader, Wash., died unexpectedly July 8, 2011. He was born in Seattle March 13, 1947.

He attended Tyee High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army, where he served two tours in Vietnam. After being honorably discharged, he moved to Tennessee and later to Texas. In 1987, he returned to the Seattle area and started driving for Miles Sand and Gravel. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Jimmy Ray Lind and Ashuna Lewis, father Raymond Lind and mother Ethylbert Lind.

He is survived by brother Robert Lind and wife Trudy of Buckley; sister Carol Tennyson and husband Frank of Federal Way; sons Anson Lewis and wife Shawna of Trenton, Texas, William Lewis and wife Tasha of Evansville, Ind., John Lind Jr. of Dickson, Tenn., and David Sharwark of Olympia, Wash.; daughters, Tami Grager and husband Tim of Enumclaw, Juanita Dubois and husband Darren; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, at The Summit, 920 Roosevelt Ave., Enumclaw.
