John Ziltener

Longtime Enumclaw resident John J. Ziltener, 80, died Jan 29, 2011, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

He was born July 2, 1930, to John and Martha (Palmer) Ziltener. He was born and raised on a farm in the Kent Valley but spent 60 years in Enumclaw. He had two long working careers, 55 years as a commercial fisherman in Southeast Alaska and also working in road construction. He retired from Local Union No. 440.

He is survived by wife Marian Ziltener of Enumclaw; daughter Pam Morris and husband Rick of Clarkdale, Ariz.; son John R. Ziltener of Enumclaw; brother Jack P. Olson of Centralia, Wash.; stepchildren Barb Scavera of Kirkland, Wash., and Scott Crawford of Monroe, Wash.; two grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by son Mike L. Ziltener of Enumclaw and eight brothers and sisters.

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Those who knew him are invited to attend and say their goodbyes.
