Miki was sent from heaven July 22, 1948 and returned to heaven May 31, 2019. Michele was a community minded individual who participated as such for the majority of her adult life. She spent 12 years involved with the Rainier State School in Buckley, WA, working with both Pastor Marshal Miller and Father James Boyle to enhance the lives of those with greater restrictive limitations. A true champion of what some considered to be the underdog, she created thousands of preassembled craft projects for hundreds of developmentally disabled adults, served Marshal Miller on Sundays, transported residents and participated in many social events at the school and chapel, her first love.

Plateau Outreach Ministries in Enumclaw also caught her eye, where she spent a number of years involved with thefood bank and outreach to the community. She was instrumental with her husband in funding the building where P.O.M. is now located. Here she was able to make a stronger heart commitment to prayer and service by helping draw the women of the community together in one accord for prayer and creating venues of support for such worthy organizations as Honor My Wishes, a hospice blessing in the Enumclaw area. She also helped create a volunteer directory of ministry and volunteer opportunities.

After moving to Graham in 2010, she served at the Washington State Soldier’s home in Orting to wind up her days of direct hands-on service by leading in song, serving communion and transporting residents.

Miki never sought recognition in life for her good works but deserves to be recognized in her passing. In her latter years as her health declined she spent personal time enjoying her family, crafts, the Pacific coast and working in her garden. Her life verse was Isaiah 40:31: “But they that wait upon theLordshall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Michele is survived by her sons Daniel and Andrew (Nicole); Jack her devoted husband of 48 years; sisters Patty (David) and Kay; many nieces and nephews; and a vast network of very loving friends. She will be long remembered by those who crossed paths with her as one of the most honest, caring, selfless, faithful and giving people they ever encountered and will be greatly missed.

At her request no services will be held. Please share a memory with her family on the tribute wall at www.weeksfuneralhomes.com.
