It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Nicole “Nikkie” Marie VanHoof (née Josie), 44, of Enumclaw, Washington, on July 17, 2025 at Seattle’s UW Medical Center.
Born in Renton, Washington on June 24, 1981, Nikkie was destined to be as close to water as possible, in all of its forms; a snowmobile racing champion and an avid wakeboarder, the mountains and the lake were a constant call.
A Class of 1999 Enumclaw High School graduate, Nikkie worked at Gonnason Boats, HP and Zones before joining Costco’s IT team. Always on the move, when Nikkie wasn’t working, she was wrangling a horde of dogs, cats and refurbishing projects (with some kids tossed in there, too) or planning her next adventure.
Her second home was at Curlew Lake, where she spent as much time as possible taking her beloved family and friends out on her prized boat.
Nikkie is survived by her husband Kip, her daughter Harper, step-daughter Kali and step-son Kash, along with step-sons Foster and Holden from a previous marriage. Nikkie is survived by her mother Lesley, father Rick, step-mother Cathy, and her (full, half and step) siblings Billy, Quintin, Tyler, Bailey, Tori and Wyatt. She is preceded in death by her cousins Jake (Josie) and Jake (Vanchu), and her step-father Jeff.
A celebration of life service will take place at Neuwaukum Wedding and Event Hall on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025 at 2 p.m., located at 38402 180th Ave SE Auburn,Washington.
