Former Enumclaw resident Richard L. Garland, 81, died March 12, 2011.

He was born July 5, 1929, to Albert and Helen Garland. He grew up in Enumclaw and was a graduate of Enumclaw High School. He spent most of his adult life working in California as a building contractor. He was most recently a resident of Orting.

He is survived by companion Susan Martin of Orting; sister Mary Jane Fallen of Enumclaw; children Richard Garland Jr. and wife Marilee of Ravensdale, Kim Sperry and husband Tom of Manteca, Calif., Shandi Ransey and husband Paul of Templeton, Calif., and Michael Boyd of Fresno, Calif.

At his request, there will be no services.
