NOTES: The 3-year-old filly division has produced three different winners in as many races, none of whom are entered in the Washignton Oaks. It’s a totally different scenario from last year when Stopshoppingdebbie swept the four-race series for sophomore fillies. . .Lady Fifty Two co-owner George Todaro scored the biggest upset in a Washington Oaks at Emerald Downs as Rivoltella shipped in from Del Mar and notched a $23.60 victory in 2007. . .Speaking of Lady Fifty Two, only three of 18 Oaks winners at Emerald Downs were coming out of a sprint race: Capilano (1997), Erica’s Smile (2002) and Zenovit (2010). Erica’s Smile, like Lady Fifty Two, had never raced beyond six furlongs and came to Emerald Downs off a two-length victory in the Fairfield Stakes at Solano. The result was a three-length gate-to-wire victory in 1:49.60. . .Alex Bisono (Champagne Gal) is currently fifth in the jockeys’ standings at Hastings Racecourse with an 18-for-134 mark thru Friday. This is his first mount at Emerald Downs. . .Champagne Gal would be the second straight Hastings shipper to win a 3YOF race at Emerald Downs, after Ole’s Miss edged Mylast Sweet Pea by a neck in the Kent Handicap. . .Leslie Mawing (Lady Fifty Two) is the leading stakes rider this season with a 6-1-0 mark in 11 mounts, and has won four of the last five stakes including a win on Ole’s Miss in the Kent Handicap, . .Rocco Bowen (Quiet Wisdom) ranks second with three stakes wins (all on Stopshoppingdebbie) and five jockeys are tied for third with one stakes win apiece. . .Mylast Sweet Pea could follow the pattern set by Class Included (2011) and She’s All Silk (2006), who finished second in the Kent before winning the Oaks. . .Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer (Lady Fifty Two) is 7-for-51 lifetime at Emerald Downs with six stakes wins, but is 4-0-0-1 in the Washington Oaks.
