The White River High soccer squad has shaken off a rocky start to the season and is picking up victories as the playoffs approach.

The Hornets won two of three South Puget Sound League 2A games last week, including a 2-1 road victory Friday afternoon at Franklin Pierce. White River received a first-half goal from Taylor Moser and had the eventual game-winner come in the 50th minute, delivered by Tyler Krebsbach.

Things didn’t go so well April 11, when White River hosted the Sumner Spartans and lost 5-1. The Hornets’ only goal was scored by Zack Morris.

On April 9, White River went on the road and rang up a 3-0 victory over the Washington Patriots. Morris had two goals and Rodrigo Fernandez had the other.

The Hornets presently sit fourth in the eight-team SPSL 2A.
