A feisty Bonney Lake High boys basketball team fought for its playoff life in the preliminary round of the subdistrict 3A tournament at Bremerton Friday, but lost the battle 89-80 in overtime to the Bremerton Knights.

The Panther’s short lived playoff aspirations ended then and there.

Bonney Lake senior guard Ramsey Thoms scored 30 points in Bonney Lake’s swan song.

Also finishing with double digits were Mikey Berger with 14 points, Mike Gould with 11 points and senior Nathan Day with 10.

Bonney Lake struggled to reach the second season with a 1-9 South Puget Sound League 3A mark, but thanks to a lopsided 70-39 victory over Peninsula High on Feb. 8, the Panthers earned the fifth and final seed out of the South Puget Sound League 3A. Bonney Lake ended its 2010-11 cage campaign with a 8-16 overall record.
