BLHS BOYS SOCCER: Panthers fall to Auburn Mountainview 3-2, trump Lakes High 6-0

The Bonney Lake High soccer team saw its South Puget Sound League 3A record slip to 0-1-1 the evening of March 30 with a 3-2 loss to the visiting Auburn Mountainview Lions.

Things started well for the Panthers, as James Glavin notched an unassisted goal just eight minutes into the contest. Bonney Lake wouldn’t have much more to celebrate as the visiting Lions scored three unassisted goals in the second half to put the game on ice. Bonney Lake’s second goal came late in the game off the foot of Jordan Billy.

The Panthers’ tie came March 28 against the Decatur Gators. The teams battled to a 2-2 deadlock after 80 minutes, but Decatur won the shootout, so in the standings Bonney Lake is awarded one point and Decatur gets two.

The Panthers scored early and late against the Gators, with Glavin responsible for both talies. The first, at five minutes, was unassisted; the second, in the 76th minute, came off an assist by Tim Knoles.

Last week’s games left Bonney Lake with an overall mark of 4-1-2.

The Panthers played at Lakes High School yesterday night, trumping the Lancers 6-0.
