Spitting a pair of South Puget Sound League 3A contests last week, the Bonney Lake Panthers pushed their league mark to 4-2, just a game out of the league lead.

After running off a three-game winning streak, Bonney Lake suffered a 3-2 setback Thursday at Decatur High. The defeat was a tough one, as the Panthers jumped on top early thanks to goals by Ashley Cade in the 11th minute and Madi Adams at the 15-minute mark. The host Gators cut the margin to 2-1 before intermission, tied the contest at 47 minutes and grabbed a dramatic victory with a tally in the 78th minute.

Things had gone much better Oct. 11 when Bonney Lake steamrolled Peninsula High 5-0. Playing on their home field, goalkeeper Madi Lowry earned her seventh shutout while Adams knocked in a three first-half goals. Kassandra Blakely and Karissa Burnett also found the net for the Panthers.

Following games of last week, three of the SPSL 3A’s six teams – Bonney Lake, Decatur and Enumclaw – had built 4-2 records. The Panthers hosted the league-leading, 5-1 Auburn Mountainview Lions Tuesday night and will travel to face the last-place Lakes Lancers Thursday.
