BLHS SOCCER: Record slips to 2-1 after setback from Auburn Mountainview

The Bonney Lake Panthers slipped from the ranks of the unbeaten Thursday night, suffering a 2-1 setback at the hands of the Auburn Mountainview Lions.

The Bonney Lake Panthers slipped from the ranks of the unbeaten Thursday night, suffering a 2-1 setback at the hands of the Auburn Mountainview Lions.

The Panthers jumped on the scoreboard first, receiving a goal from Kassandra Blakely in the 25th minute. The host Lions tied the game shortly before intermission, then won on a goal at 74 minutes.

The loss evened the Panthers’ South Puget Sound League 3A mark at 1-1 and was the team’s first loss in eight games this season.

The Panthers opened league play in fine fashion Sept. 27, blanking the visiting Decatur Gators 3-0. Earning the shutout in goal was keeper Madi Lowry. Bonney Lake received first-half goals by Madi Adams and Lindsey Hanbidge, with the final tally coming in the 78th minute by Alicia Bowman.

Bonney Lake was looking to bounce back Tuesday when the team hosted the Lakes Lancers. SPSL 3A play continues Thursday when the Panthers host Enumclaw.
