BLHS TRACK AND FIELD: Adara Winder earns state title in shot put for second year in a row

Bonney Lake High junior Adara Winder represented her school extremely well at the state Class 3A track and field championships, earning the state title in the shot put competition for the second consecutive year.

The state meet was contested at Mount Tahoma’s Thunderbird Stadium in Tacoma Thursday through Saturday.

Winder found success despite exceedingly tough competition. She registered a tremendous heave of 44 feet, 4.75 inches, in the finals to claim the crown once more.

The only Bonney Lake boy to make the state scene, senior speed merchant Reed Hawkins, ran in the preliminaries but failed to crack the finals.
