BLHS VOLLEYBALL: Fearsome threepeat against Sumner, Auburn, Tahoma

Bonney Lake’s volleyball team, apparently is the best kept secret on the Plateau.

After taking its dynamic dig, set and spike show on the road to play Class 4A Tahoma on the Bear’s home court and dispatching the vaunted THS squad in three straight matches, the potent Panthers pushed their overall mark to 3-0 and the SPSL 3A schedule is not yet under way.

Over the course of three contests with Sumner, Auburn and Tahoma, senior Panther Danielle Norton had 18 kills, 45 digs and 16 aces. Against Tahoma alone Norton’s cohort, Ashtyn Bagby had no less than 23 assists.

In its three outings, Bonney Lake lost one set, the third game in its four-set match with Auburn, in which it finally got a taste of defeat even though it was only a nibble, with BLHS being trimmed 29-27 to force the match to BLHS’s initial extra set of the season.

Bonney Lake has participated in its sole action of the week, hosting Shelton Monday, with the results of that match coming too late to report here. Bonney Lake rolls out the red carpet for Spanaway Lake Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. and hosts its premiere SPSL 3A match of the campaign against Lakes Sept. 22 at 7:15 p.m.
