The Panther six-pack’s overall mark was 11-1 heading into the week, while its South Puget Sound League 3A record was 6-1.

Its solitary setback of the season was at the hands of Auburn Mountainview, which bludgeoned the Panthers earlier in the season.

The two met again Tuesday, when Bonney Lake visited 7-0 Auburn Mountainview. Look for the score of this pivotal clash at www.courierherald.com.

The Panthers appeared ready to rise to the challenge, as they didn’t lose a single set last week.

Oct. 5, the Panthers flooded Lakes 25-14, 25-16, 25-16 and then swept Peninsula High 25-23, 25-23, 27-25.

In its initial test of the week against the Lancers at Bonney Lake, Lakes seemed a bit overwhelmed as senior hitters Taylor Watkins and Erica LeFevers combined for 17 kills. Alexa Hills launched five aces over the bewildered Lancers’ webbing.

Against Peninsula, Chelsea Merkel recorded 36 assists and double-digit digs. Watkins and LeFevers combined for 25 kills.
