Bonney Lake High wrestlers hosted the Panther Invitational Saturday, attracting 15 teams from throughout the region.

Among those were Centralia, which took home first place accolades with 221 points; Burlington-Edison, which claimed third place with 154 points; and White River, which finished in fourth place with 132 points. The Panthers took home the silver medal.

Bonney Lake had five participants in the championship bouts, four of which claimed the belts in their weight classes.

Among those title holders were Colton Tracy at 103 pounds, Andrew Cunningham at 119, 145-pounder Justin Rush and 160-pound junior Jake Lueders.

The highlight of the day was provided by Lueders, who brought down Burlington-Edison’s Juan Canales midway through the second round.

Bonney Lake found the going a bit rough when it made the short excursion to Enumclaw Dec. 8 and lost 60-12 in its South Puget Sound League 3A season opener.

Cunningham and Tracy were the only bright spots for Bonney Lake on the ill-fated trip, as both pinned their challengers.
