The Bonney Lake High girls soccer team opened the season on the road with a 3-1 win over Franklin Pierce Thursday in South Puget Sound League 3A action in Parkland.

Hailey Cannon scored twice and Hillary Colbert scored once for Bonney Lake.

Friday, the Panthers travel to Tacoma to face the Class 4A’s No. 3 team in state, the Bellarmine Prep Lions, in nonleague play.

The Lions came up with a 5-0 win. Goalies Bri Carlin and Autumn Golden combined for the shutout.

The Panthers, 1-1 overall, will host White River at 7 p.m. Thursday at Panther Field in South Puget Sound League play and then Yelm Tuesday in non-league action.
