Bonney Lake High’s Alex Ellis, Tracy Hare and Courtney Bartlett were expected to tee off this morning, Wednesday, at Horn Rapids Golf Course for the state Class 3A girls golf tournament.

The Richland, Wash., area course winds through the sand and sage of a natural desert there. This will be the second straight state tournament showing for Panther senior Ellis. Ellis, the South Puget Sound League Golfer of the Year, qualified during play in the fall.

Teammates Hare and Bartlett earned their way in by grabbing two of the last spots after play at the West Central/Southwest District tournament at Eagle Pride Golf Course, formerly Fort Lewis, May 18.

State tournament play begins today, Wednesday, with 18 holes and continues Thursday with a second 18-hole round.
