After claiming the South Puget Sound League 3A’s No. 2 spot, the Enumclaw High boys tennis team finished fourth at the subdistrict tournament, which after several rain delays finally finished up.
The brothers’ doubles team of sophomore Tyler and senior Jeremy McCarthy finished sixth at the tournament, taking the last spot into the spring’s West Central District tournament.
The subdisctrict tournament consisted of 12 different schools with each bringing its best three doubles teams and its top three singles players. A total of 34 singles players and 34 doubles teams competed for one of the top six spots to advance to the spring tournament and a shot at state.
In singles plat, EHS sophomore Dan Milat finished seventh and will serve as an alternate in to districts in the spring.
Milat was also an SPSL 3A all-league, first-team selection. Jeremy McCarthy earned honorable mention.
Both players, along with teammates Patrick Putman, Matt Zender and Levi Goodin were named to the all-academic team.
