Even with a home course advantage, the Enumclaw High girls golf team couldn’t muster a win against league nemesis Decatur.

The Gators, led by the 1-over par 36 performance of Amanda Beyke, beat the Hornets 147-131 Thursday.

It was the second time this season the league-leading Gators handed EHS a loss.

The Hornets’ top finisher was junior Madeline Petellin at 5-over par 40. Junior Tiffany Wilkening finished four strokes behind at 44.

Wilkening earned medalist honors with a 6-over par 41 in the Hornets’ 131-107 league victory over Bonney Lake Sept. 27. She was followed by teammates Petellin and sister Tammy Wilkening, both at 46.

On the boys side against Bonney Lake, Tyler Salsbury led EHS to a 91-40 SPSL 3A victory over the Panthers at the Enumclaw Golf Course.

Salsbury finished a 1-under par 35 during play. Fellow Hornet Beau Brock came in one stroke behind, shooting an even-par 35.

The boys’ match with Decatur was rescheduled for Monday in Federal Way. Look online at www.courierherald.com for results.
