EHS GOLF: Season swings into action with wins

Auburn Mountainview may have had the medalist Thursday during South Puget Sound League 3A boys golf play with Enumclaw High, but the Hornets’ had Tim Livermore, Jordan Beals and Tyler Salsbury, who combined for 52 points in the 90-77 victory.

Livermore finished the back nine at Auburn Golf Course with an even-par 36 with teammates Beals and Salsbury one stroke behind at 37. The Lions’ Chris Quick finished at 1-under par 35.

David Smith, 40, Jake Erickson, 41, and Colton McCluskey, 45, rounded out the EHS scoring.

The Hornets are at Franklin Pierce Thursday. Tee time is 3:15 p.m.

On the girls’ side, Torey Schreiner earned medalist honors with a 42-stroke performance Thursday at Enumclaw Golf Course as the Hornets topped Auburn Mountainview 88-41 in the South Puget Sound League 3A season opener.

Teammate Kelly Sweeney finished two strokes behind at 44. Caitlin Runland, Janie Francis, Kaylee Salsbury and Claire Hinman rounded out the scoring.

The Lady Hornets host Franklin Pierce at 3 p.m. Thursday.
