EHS ranked No. 2 among all Class 2A programs with 7-0 record

White River continues its losing streak.

Enumclaw High will look to continue its remarkable run of gridiron success Thursday night when the Hornets host Clover Park.

Game time is 7 p.m. at the Enumclaw Expo Center.

Last week, EHS crushed Orting 49-3 to improve to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in South Puget Sound League 2A play. Following this week’s encounter with the Timberwolves (1-3, 1-4), the Hornets will conclude the regular season Oct. 28 with the annual Battle of the Bridge against White River.

Boasting an unbeaten record, Enumclaw High has continued to gain attention. In the last statewide poll by the AP, the Hornets were ranked No. 2 among all Class 2A programs. The numbers tell the story: through seven contests EHS has outscored its opponents 315-107, winning by an average of 30 points per outing.

WHITE RIVER

The banged-up White River squad will look to snap a six-game losing streak under the Friday night lights at Franklin Pierce High.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on the Cardinals’ home turf.

White River fell to 0-5 in South Puget Sound League 2A action last week with a 49-23, Homecoming loss to the Steilacoom Sentinels. Following a season-opening victory over Capital High, the Hornets have spent six weeks on the short end of the score, losing a handful of key contributors to injury along the way.

Following this week’s battle at Franklin Pierce (1-3, 3-3), the Hornets will wrap up the regular season with the October 28 Battle of the Bridge against neighboring Enumclaw, then a nonleague contest November 4 with Kent-Meridian High.
