EHS SWIM AND DIVE: Hornets post more district times

The Enumclaw High girls picked up a 127-48 nonleague win over Auburn Riverside Sept. 14 and a 92-86 league victory over Decatur Sept. 15.

The Enumclaw High girls picked up a 127-48 nonleague win over Auburn Riverside Sept. 14 and a 92-86 league victory over Decatur Sept. 15.

The Hornets added their 200-yard freestyle relay to its list of district-qualifying times. Bella Davenport, Ali Ballard, Erin Wessel and Erin Stucker raced to a first-place time of 1 minute, 58.12 seconds against Decatur.

EHS’s Wessel and Stucker also finshed 1-2 in the 50 freestyle. Wessel and Ballard went 1-2 in the 100 freestyle. Davenport won the 100 breaststroke and Erica Bonthuis placed first in diving.

The Hornets earned second-place finishes from its 200 medley relay team of Carlie Cairnes, Davenport, Stucker and Wessel; Ballard, 200 freestyle; Carly Hinman, 100 butterfly; Rachel Holston, 500 freestyle; and the 400 freestyle relay of Hinman, Holston, Jamie Ritzdorf and Ballard.

Against the Ravens, the Hornets’ 200-yard medley relay of Cairnes, Cassie Cook, Hannah Kinniburgh and Katie Larrea qualified for districts with a first-place time of 2:13.30. Davenport’s 100 breaststroke bettered her district time.

Other first-place finishers for EHS were: 200 freestyle, Hinman, 2:25.85; 200 individual medley, Davenport, 2:36.32; 50 freestyle, Stucker, 28.29; diving, Bonthuis, 149.80; 100 butterfly, Stucker, 1:16.63; 500 freestyle, Hinman, 6:40.67; 200 freestyle relay of Lori Lamm, Larrea, Ritzdorf, Josie Wicks, 2:00.52; and 400 freestyle relay of Cairnes, Larrea, Rebecca Messey and Wicks, 4:41.45.
