Enumclaw equestrian team qualifies 22 for state

The defending state champion Enumclaw High equestrian team trample the competition at the third District 2 meet of the season and qualified 22 of its 24 riders for state May 13 and 14 in Wenatchee, Wash.

EHS’ Canadian flags team won gold at the Grays Harbor Fairgrounds in Elma, Wash., April 23-25. The Canadian flags team is made up of Kamille Bergquist, Colleen Branson, Katie Fish and Ali Kratzer.

Courtney Campbell, Brittany Hall, Kaylee Milbrath and Kyle Ward finished right behind for silver.

Kratzer also earned gold in Figure 8, while Branson rode to a bronze and Chelsea Pfeiffer qualified for state.

Bergquist and Fish finished 1-2 in poles earning gold and silver respectively. Also in poles, Kayla Hoiland qualified for state.

Branson also earned gold in roping.

Milbrath picked up gold in working rancher, while Kylee Strunks earned a bronze.

Other silver-medal district performances went to: barrels, Branson; birangle, Fish and Kratzer; flags, Kratzer; huntseat, Milbrath; in hand obstacle relay, Marisa Carlin, Milbrath, Lauren Storer and Ward; reining, Dyllan Freeburg; and working pairs, Storer and Milbrath.

Bronze medals went to Joseph Myers in flags and Ward in stockseat.

Also qualifying for state wis Marisa Carlin.
