GIRLS SOCCER: 10th-ranked Bonney Lake slams Lakes in SPSL 3A action

The Panthers improved to 5-0-0 in South Puget Sound League 3A play with a 3-0 win over Peninsula Thursday in Purdy.

With the win, the No. 10-ranked team in Class 3A improves to 10-1-1 overall.

Bonney Lake jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half. Hillary Colbert scored off a Savanna Moorehouse assist in the 25th minute of play. Eight minutes later, Moorehouse scored on a Leslie Cannon assist.

Moorehouse added an insurance goal in the 69th minute as Colbert recorded the assist.

Reni Johnson recorded the shutout for the Panthers.

Beverly Kobe tallied three goals, Haylie Cannon and Colbert scored two others as the Panthers slammed Lakes, 9-2, in South Puget Sound League 3A action at Panther Field Oct. 13.

Kobe, a junior, scored all her goals in the second half. She scored in the 60th minute on a Moorehouse assist, then in the 72nd on Colbert’s assist and a minute later nailed an unassisted goal.

Moorehouse opened up the scoring in the first minute of play off a Haylie Cannon assist.

Before intermission, Colbert scored off a Kassandra Blakely assist. Colbert scored in the 63rd minute on a Jenny Dewitz assist.

Haylie Cannon scored in the 49th on a penalty kick and 76th minute from an assist by Colbert.

Bonney Lake will travel to Auburn Mountainview Tuesday for a 7 p.m. league game.
