GYMNASTICS: Enumclaw second at four-team meet in Puyallup Jan. 19

Enumclaw High's Olivia Bannerot captured all-around honors and the Hornets took second as a team Jan. 19 during a four-way gymnastics meet at Puyallup High School.

Enumclaw High’s Olivia Bannerot captured all-around honors and the Hornets took second as a team Jan. 19 during a four-way gymnastics meet at Puyallup High School.

Undefeated Todd Beamer High took the team title with 155.85 points, followed by Enumclaw’s 152.55. The host Vikings were third with 152.2 and Kentridge trailed the field with 142.2.

Bannerot was tops in the all-around after scoring 9.1 in the vault, 8.5 on bars, 8.3 on the beam and 8.65 in the floor exercise.

Teammate Michelle McKinlay was sixth in the all-around with scores of 7.9 in the vault, 7.3 on the bars, 8.8 on the beam and 7.8 in the floor exercise.

Bannerot’s 8.5 on the bars left her as the individual champion in the event. Other Hornets earning Top 10 status individually were as follows.

Vault: Bannerot, second, 9.1; Sarah Lurry, third, 8.5; Molly Mattheis, eighth, 8.0; and McKinlay, ninth, 7.9.

Bars: McKinlay, fifth, 7.3.

Beam: Kelsey Messer, third, 8.85; McKinlay, fourth, 8.8; and Bannerot, 10th, 8.3.

Floor: Messer, third, 8.8; Bannerot, fifth, 8.65; Lurry, ninth, 8.05; and Mattheis, 10th, 8.0.
