Sumner High will send four gymnasts to Friday’s district meet at Auburn Mountainview and Bonney Lake will add another, all having qualified during subdistrict competition.

Subdistricts brought together gymnasts from the South Puget Sound League 2A and 3A ranks, along with teams from the Narrows and Olympic leagues. Advancing to districts were everyone on the top two teams and the top three all-around scorers, plus the top seven in each event who had not qualified as part of a team or through all-around scoring.

At districts, all will be looking to advance to the Feb. 18-19 state meet, to be staged again in the Tacoma Dome exhibit hall.

Bonney Lake High’s Kelsey Wells-Henderson earned a district berth with her all-around finish.

Sumner High’s Aja Ruswick earned her district trip in all four events. Dayna Devereaux qualified in the vault and floor exercise; Kimi Nakayama qualified in the bars and floor exercise; and Sierra Tinsley qualified in the bars and beam.
