The South Puget Sound League 3A’s most valuable players were found on the Plateau this season. So were the top coaches.

Postseason honors were voted upon this week by league coaches, who determined that Enumclaw High’s Riley Carel was the MVP in boys basketball. On the girls’ side, Enumclaw’s Mara Koplitz and White River’s Kendall Williams shared the honor. Top coaches were EHS boys coach Phil Engebretsen and White River girls coach Chris Gibson.

Other area players honored during the all-league selection process include:

Boys

First team: Jayson Lewis and Taylor Meyers, Enumclaw High.

Second team: Kenneth Thomas, White River.

Honorable mention: Tarran VanTrojan, Enumclaw. Nolan Gibson and Chad Saylor, White River. Nathan Braun, Bonney Lake. Willy Bulzomi, Sumner.

Girls

First team: Marcel Pounds, Bonney Lake. Brooke Paulson, White River. Heather Hitch, Enumclaw.

Second team: Megan McKune and Kristine Brons, White River.

Honorable mention: Janae Sayler and Jessalyn Clark, Enumclaw. Rochelle Murray and Rachelle Weigand, Bonney Lake. Angie Wagar-Sanchez and Lisa Schouten, Sumner.
