The Enumclaw High Hornets find themselves in the early stages of a busy stretch in which they will play four baseball games in five days.

The EHS crew hosts Franklin Pierce today, Wednesday, travels to White River Friday and is back home to host the Peninsula Seahawks Saturday afternoon. The team has played one game this week, traveling to Lakes High Tuesday; results came too late to include here, but will be posted at www.courierherald.com.

Coach Eric Fiedler’s squad had rolled to a 4-1 overall record and was 2-1 in South Puget Sound League 3A contests heading into this week. The biggest obstacle had been the spring weather that was often victorious over the schedule-makers.

“The kids have been a little bit flustered by the weather,” Fiedler said, but, otherwise, things are going well for the Hornets.

“Our pitching depth is going to be the key to our season,” Fiedler said, adding that his Hornets have been playing solid defense and displaying timely hitting.
