Jake Knostman scored four goals and had four assists as Bainbridge secured its fourth win of the season with an 11 – 8 boys high school lacrosse defeat of Lake Tapps, Wednesday at Bonney Lake High School.

The win snapped a two-game losing skid and a rough spot in the schedule were the Sparts had dropped five of their last six games.

It appeared that the young Bainbridge squad was headed to another defeat as they quickly fell behind Tapps 4 – 2 in the first and then only managed to match Tapps’ three goals in the second to trail 7 – 5 at the half.  But the Spartans found their legs outscoring Tapps 4 – 1 in the third to take a one-goal lead going into the final quarter.  In the fourth, the Bainbridge defense took over holding Tapps scoreless as the offense added two goals for the win.

Knostman had three ground balls, while Adam Gargus had seven goals.  Reynolds Yarbrough had five saves to keep the Sparts in the game.

Lake Tapps’  Michael Lucchesi and Josh Davenport each had a pair goals.
