Hillary Norris’ three first-place finishes helped the Sumner High girls defeat Timberline 98-42 in nonleague action Thursday at Sunset Chev Stadium.

The senior runner captured first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 27.85 seconds. She won the 1,600 meters in 5:30.63 and the 3,200 in 12:14.21.

Ashlee Sincraugh won the 400 meters in 1:02.40 as the Spartans finished in the top four spots.

Kaylee Holloway was a double winner in the 100 and 300 hurdles. She won the 100 in 16.97, edging out teammate Karly Dedmon. Holloway won the 300 with a time of 50.70 as Dedmon again took second.

The Spartans won two of the three relay races. The 400-meter team of Leah Engelhardt, Jeneka Kilmer, Carson Blankenship and Leah DeDominas was first in 55:08.

Englehardt, DeDominas, Taylor Hobert and Jessica Vandergeissen won the 800 relay in 1:56.58.

Sasha Weber was a double winner in the field events. She won the javelin with a throw of 102 feet, 8 inches and the high jump at 5-0.

Carly Lange’s throw of 26-08.25 was enough for first in the shot put and Katrina Carter took first in the discus at 82 feet.

Michaela Trulson won the pole vault at 6-0 and Vandergeissen was first in the triple jump at 31-04.5.

Boys

Zach Berry won three races as the Sumner High boys defeated Timberline 88-55 in nonleague action Thursday at Sunset Chev Stadium.

Berry posted wins in the 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 10.41 seconds, 1,600 meters, 4:40.24, and 3,200 meters, 11:05.33. After the grueling 3,200 run, Berry had enough left to run a leg in the Spartans’ 1,600-meter relay team that finished first at 3:53.82.

“He was a busy runner today,” assistant coach Scott Drennen said. “It was impressive to see he had enough in his tank to run in the relay. He looked good today.”

Joining Berry on the winning relay team were Andrew Glenn, Conner Mickelson and Ryan Daigle.

Timberline dominated the short-distance races, finishing first in the 100 and 200.

Daigle won the 400 meters as the Spartans finished in the top four spots.

Casey Coffman won the 300 hurdles in 45.33 and took third in the 110 hurdles. Kyle Brennen was second in the 110 hurdles at 18.26.

In the field events, Alex Griffith won the discus with a throw of 139 feet, 2 inches and was second in the shot put at 44-03.25.

Seth Rodriquez won the javelin at 132-04 and Grant Stevens won the pole vault, clearing 10-6.

Jordan Hanni was first in the triple jump with a leap of 36-06.5.
