Nothing but wins for Plateau’s prep golfers | Enumclaw and White River

The Plateau’s high school golfers have achieved phenomenal success during the early part of the season.

Through matches of last weekend, all teams sported perfect records. Both the Enumclaw High boys and girls squads were sitting pretty at 5-0, as were the White River girls. Just a half-step behind were the 4-0 White River boys. Every victory was made more important by virtue of being a league contest.

Perhaps the most noteworthy win came Sept. 8 when the White River girls knocked off Fife by a decisive 63-33 margin. The Trojans have won the South Puget Sound League 2A title the past four seasons.

“That was a huge win for us,” said junior standout Sydnee Scott. “We have finished second to them for three years and we were excited to finally beat them.”

Scott took medalist honors in four of her team’s first five matches.  Juniors Maci Goethals, Dani Barbee, and Jordanne Fray, along with senior Amanda Lance, have teamed up to punish the opposition so far.
