The Bonney Lake High boys lost to Auburn Mountainview, but it took three overtime periods before the Panthers fell 71-63 at home Dec. 16.

Bonney Lake battled the Lions in each quarter with four Panthers scoring in double figures.

“The kids worked very hard on both teams,” coach John Hofstrand said. “It was a fun game to be part of and I appreciated the way the kids played.”

Nathan Braun and Chad Marquez each scored 16 points. Riley Baltazar dropped in 12 and Petey Peterson hit for 10.

Kyle Bobbit scored seven and Hunter Colegrove added two.

“It was very encouraging for our kids to see they could score and contribute when they need to,” Hofstrand said. “It was a real team effort.”

The Panther game at Lakes Friday was canceled due to snow.

Bonney Lake is scheduled to host Spanaway Lake Tuesday at 5:15 p.m. in a nonleague game.
