Bonney Lake beat Spanaway Lake 58-55 Dec. 30 at home in a nonleague game.

The Panthers racked up 10 in the first frame to take a 10-8 lead. The two teams each scored 15 in the next period and Bonney Lake took a slim 25-23 lead into the second half.

In the third quarter the Panthers knocked down 19 points to Spanaway’s 14 and that gave Bonney Lake the margin for the win.

Nathan Braun dropped in 17 to lead the Panthers scoring while Chad Marquez hit 11 and Derek Fugere added 10.

The Panthers lost the second nonleague game over the break 58-45 to Fife Dec. 31 at home.

Marquez led the scoring for Bonney Lake with 15 and Bobbitt added 13.

South Puget Sound League 3A actions picked up again this week. Bonney Lake hosted Franklin Pierce Tuesday, scores were not available, travels to White River for a 7 p.m. game Friday and hits the road again Saturday for a 7 p.m. game at Lakes.
