Petellin earns varsity letter at Luther College

EHS grad helped lead Luther to a 3-0 dual meet record and its 14th liberal arts championship

Margaret Petellin, a graduate of Enumclaw High School, was presented her first letter at the Luther College swimming and diving postseason gathering.

During the 2020-21, COVID-shortened season, Petellin helped lead Luther to a 3-0 dual meet record and its 14th liberal arts championship dating back to 1992.

At the Liberal Arts Championships – a virtual event with teams competing at two locations in February – she was crowned a champion as a member of the 200-yard and 400-yard medley relays, swimming the first leg of both. She also earned a bronze medal in the 100 backstroke and in both the 200 and 400 freestyle relays and took fourth in the 200 backstroke.

She is the daughter of Mike and Marion Petellin of Enumclaw and was a 2020 graduate of Enumclaw High School. While at EHS she was a four-year letter winner in swimming and track and field. Twice she earned all-league honors in swimming.

Luther College, located in Decorah, Iowa, is a member of the American Rivers Conference.
