The Plateau’s prep golfers finished an incredible regular season in which they combined to post a spotless 50-0 record.

At Enumclaw High, both the boys and girls teams posted 12-0 marks. At White River, the boys went 14-0 and the girls 12-0, playing two fewer matches because Washington High did not field a girls squad.

With the successful regular season under their belts, golfers from both school were launched into postseason tournaments that determine who advances to the state tourney. The teams’ run of success continued through the league tournaments.

Everything is now settled until May, which brings both qualifying tournaments and state tournaments for school of all sizes.

White River Boys

For the third year in a row, the team won or shared the South Puget Sound League 2A title; and, for good measure, the squad won the end-of-season league tournament.

The crew played the medalist tournament Oct. 20 at Spanaway Lake Golf Course and Oct. 21 at Gold Mountain in Bremerton.

After scores from both days were combined, the top eight golfers earned direct entries to the state Class 2A tourney. Half of those were from White River: Cooper Franklin, Bryce Dahl, Drew Kacer and Matt Walker.

Three others earned berths into the spring qualifying tourney that will determine the final slots into state. Getting that second opportunity will be Niko Dymarzcyk, Hunter Ford and Trent Buchanan.

White River girls

Dominant all season, the White River girls continued that trend during postseason play. Six players from the district tourney advanced to the state tournament and four of those are Hornets: Georgia Lavinder, Sofia Lavinder, Sydnee Scott and Maci Goethals.

Three more Lady Hornets – Amanda Lance, Jordanne Fray and Dani Barbee – earned berths in the spring qualifier.

Enumclaw boys

The squad not only went undefeated, but did so for the second consecutive year and capped that performance by winning the SPSL 3A medalist tournament.

Three EHS boys earned direct berths into the 3A state tournament in May while six others stayed alive by capturing slots into the spring qualifier.

Advancing directly to state were Josh Erickson, Jared Beals and Dylan Miller. Earning the right to play again in the spring qualifier were Kidder McKee, Carson Erwin, Andrew Littman, Matt Hodgman, Caleb Coulter and Bill Miller.

Enumclaw girls

Like their male counterparts, the EHS girls also went undefeated for a second straight season and captured top honors in the 3A medalist tournament.

Grabbing a spot in May’s state tourney were Faith Hardersen, Kelsey Cunningham and Lexi Dechon. Earning berths in the May qualifier were Meagan Johnson, Riley McCann, Kayleen Anderson and Kristin Podolak.
