The Sumner High fastpitch squad destroyed Fife 14-1 Friday after dropping a game to Steilacoom at the beginning of last week, losing by a 7-4 margin April 25.

Uncharacteristically, Spartan windmiller Allie Sims issued eight free passes to the Sentinels.

Hanging in there with a 5-5 SPSL 2A mark and currently tied with Steilacoom and Fife for fourth place in the league standings, with four games remaining to be played during this last week of the regular season, Sumner appears to be playing well enough to slip into the SPSL 2A subdistrict tournament at Enumclaw’s Boise Creek Sixplex May 13.

All six SPSL 2A squads that qualify will be playing the 13.
