SHS TENNIS: Spartans keep record spotless

Sumner High's girls tennis team kept its league record spotless with a 5-0 win over Clover Park March 22 and a 3-2 victory over Fife March 23.

 

Sumner High’s girls tennis team kept its league record spotless with a 5-0 win over Clover Park March 22 and a 3-2 victory over Fife March 23.

Everyone was a winner against the Warriors, starting with the single’s victories of Jasmine Babcock, 6-2, 6-4, and Libby Reum, 6-4, 6-3.

The tandem of Taylor Henken and Kyla Anderson won 6-0, 6-1. Karina Brown and Brittany Reid won 6-3, 6-0 and Katie Parker and Nicole Bassen won 6-0, 6-1.

Against the Trojans, the Spartans picked up three doubles wins. In the No. 1 slot, Henken and Taylor Friermuth won 6-1, 6-2; at No. 2, Reid and Brown teamed for a 7-5, 6-3 victory and Bassen and Parker won 6-1, 6-0.
