Stephanie Schreiner and Braden Timpe won two events each as the Enumclaw High track and field team competed Thursday against Sumner and Lakes.

Timpe’s wins helped carry his team to a pair of victories in the double-dual meet, 86-60 over Lakes and 98-46 over Sumner. The EHS girls managed a split on the afternoon, defeating Lakes 82-64 but falling to Sumner 88-62.

Timpe won the 1,600-meter race with a time of 4 minutes, 28.1 seconds and was tops in the 800 meters with a winning time of 1:59.48.

Others winning events for the Hornet boys were Joe Cerne, who took the 300-meter hurdles in 43.75 and David Braizer, who cleared 12 feet, 6 inches to win the pole vault. The Hornets also were strong in the relays, winning both the 400- and 1,600-meter events.

EHS boys earning second-place honors were Cerne in both the javelin and 110-meter hurdles; Larry Calvert, 800 meters; Zach Mason, 200 meters; Ryan Weller, 3,200 meters; Jordan Grant, discus; and Trulan Rockwood, long jump.

Schreiner sailed 16-1 to take the long jump and went 32-10 to win the triple jump.

Other Hornets girls with winning performances Thursday were AnnaMarie Forza, who won the javelin with a toss of 106-1, and the quartet who made up the 800-meter relay team.

Scoring second-place points for the girls were Stefani Castile in the 3,200 meters; Angela Lindsey, 200 meters; Kayla Rodarte, discus; Forza, long jump; and the 1,600-meter relay team.
