The White River High track and field athletes had little trouble Thursday, defeating Timberline in nonleague action.

Competing on their home turf, the Hornet girls won 103-28 and the boys were 80-47 victors.

A trio of Hornet girls were two-time winners. Antoinette Scholes was first in the shot put with a heave of 28 feet, 8.5 inches, and also took top honors in the discus, throwing 98-2. Carley McCutchen was tops in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 47.51 seconds and captured the high jump by clearing 4-6. Alysa Aashiem won the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.64 and was first in the javelin with a throw of 101-3.

Other first-place winners for the White River girls were Jessica Lindner, who took the 100-meter hurdles in 17.02 seconds; Lauryn Wate, 800 meters, 2:40.32; Cassidy France, 200 meters, 28.27; Ajanna Russell, long jump, 13-11; and Kelly Coyle, pole vault, 7-6.

Taking second-place honors for the Hornet girls were Wate in the 3,200 meters; McCutchen in the 110-meter hurdles; France, 100-meter dash; Lindner, 300-meter hurdles; Ariana Huthmacher, 800 meters; Aashiem, 200 meters; Sierra Gulla, shot put, javelin and discus; Russell, triple jump; and Hanna Rhodes, high jump.

Two-time winners for the White River boys were Marcus Dickson, who clocked a 9:57.93 in the 3,200 meters and 4:31 in the 1,600 meters. Kramer Green won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.62 and the 300-meter hurdles in 41.11. Collin Green took the 400 meters in 50.78 and 200 meters in 23.15.

Others taking first place for the Hornets were Mat Dickson, who won the 800 meters in 2:10.82; Evan Mays-Scriven, who cleared 12 feet in the pole vault; and Doug Mays-Scriven, who threw the javelin 128-5. Taking second-place honors for the Hornet boys were Kody Gould in the 3,200 meters; Colby Herrington, 110-meter hurdles; Collin Green, 100 meters; Mat Dickson, 1,600 meters; Michael Madden, 300-meter hurdles; Nate Lenhart, 800 meters; Blake Halvorson, shot put and high jump; Scott Smith, discus; Hunter Chadwick, triple jump; Austin Shirey, pole vault; and Todd Paine Walsh, javelin.
