Rugby team plans fundraiser

The Rainier Plateau Junior Rugby team’s dinner and auction is planned for Nov. 5 at the Buckley Eagles hall on state Route 410. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by contacting coach Andy Ramsay at 253-330-6816 or a.s.ramsay@comcast.net. The club is also collecting donated auction items. The Highlanders, a not-for-profit organization for boys ages 14-19, are based in Bonney Lake, but draw from the entire Plateau.

Wolverines play hard against SWAC

The Wolverine PeeWees lost 12-0. Defensively, hits were made by Zach Glebe, Christian Sandoval, Tristan Knaus, Ethan McElderry and Brandon Fox.

Midgets highlights were an interception by Christian Armstrong. Chase Lydig had several tackles and Austin Gregg made a touchdown-saving tackle.

The 89ers posted a 25-0 victory. Jesse Gregg started the game with a touchdown on a kickoff return. Mason Donovan and Jesse Ramirez also scored touchdowns.

The Sweet Peas won a 12-7 victory over the Cougars. Touchdowns were made by Jett Van Hoof and Cody Smith.

The Bantams won 32-18. Touchdowns were by Mitchell Lockhart, Adam Rhodes and Noah Holmes.

Ladies Golf Club hosts men’s day

It was men’s guest day Sept. 21 for the Enumclaw Ladies Golf Club at Enumclaw Golf Course. The winners in the best ball net competition were: first flight, first-place team, Ruth Ann Olney and Pat Hollingsworth; second-place team, Beth Hansen and Jeff Whealdon; second flight, first-place team, Sharon Swift and Ron Miller; second-place team Kathy Olson and Frank Mihelich; third flight, first-place team Bee Evans and Mark Blake, second-place team Pat Strom and Rudy Petchnick.

Junior Hornets spread out wins

The Junior Hornet fourth-grade team lost a 28-6 nonleague game to West Seattle. The Hornets’ lone touchdown scored by running back Jackson McCann.

The fifth-grade Hornets beat Northeast Tacoma 48-0. Tanner Chase scored two touchdowns. Ross Olson, Bear Kuro, Travis Baxter and Mason Fend each added a TD.

The sixth-grade team notched a 32-7 win against West Seattle. The seventh-grade team beat Tacoma Northeast 48-0. There were seven different players who scored touchdowns: Mike Vanhoof, Sam Schuler, Zach Kruse, Bronson Puzey, Tanner Turnbow, Dan Heeps and Austin Nelson. The eighth-grade team lost a 48-0 nonleague game to The Evolution.
