Junior rugby team hosting clinic Monday

The Rainier Plateau Junior Rugby Highlanders will offer outdoor skill sessions from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the Bonney Lake High School football field.

Any boys ages 14 to 19 who are interested in playing should check out the club’s Web site, www.rainierjuniorrugby.com, which includes a section titled, “new player” that contains answers to any questions a player or parent might have.

White River grad suiting up for Lutes

White River High graduate Jen Sorensen leads the Pacific Lutheran University women’s basketball team in 3-point field goals made. The 5-foot-3 junior guard, who transferred from Tacoma Community College, is 7-for-15 for the season. She averaged 14.3 points per game and 3.21 assists at TCC.

She is averaging 9.9 points per game for PLU.

The Lady Lutes are on the road for a Texas tournament Monday and Tuesday and return home Jan. 2 to host Willamette University at 6 p.m.
