Talladega chews up Enumclaw driver

Kasey Kahne got caught up in a wreck in the opening laps at Talladega Superspeedway Sunday ending the NASCAR Sprint Cup driver’s day before it had much time to start.

“I’m OK,” said the Enumclaw driver who finished 36th. “I just couldn’t see up in the pack of cars in front of me. It looked like (Matt) Kenseth came up (the race track), and from there I was just in the wreck. A pretty big wreck there early in the race. It’s so simple to run three and four wide and that’s what everybody was doing. If one guy makes one mistake, which looked like it happened up front, it’s going to cause a big one.”

Brad Keselowski won the race, which also finished with a crash.

Racing continues Saturday night from Richmond, Va. Television coverage begins at 4 p.m. on FOX.
