Bailey named all-American

Two-time state girls wrestling champion Chantelle Bailey was named a 2010 High School All-American by Wrestling USA Magazine.

Bailey, an Enumclaw High senior, closed out her career with 50 wins and six losses, including the four-straight pins she recorded on her way to the 171-pound title in February.

Bailey recently started the summer freestyle season by winning the Washington State Wrestling Association’s 190-pound women’s title May 15 at East Valley High in Spokane.

Summer water polo offered

Enumclaw Water Polo Club will offer a summer program at the Enumclaw Aquatic Center for players ages 14 and older who would like to strengthen their skills.

An informational meeting for parents and players is scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m. June 9 in the Enumclaw Public Library.

The evening program, for boys and girls, will focus on both fundamental and advanced skills, with some games and scrimmages.

He played four years with the University of Washington’s men’s water polo team, where he served as a captain and was the Huskies’ offensive MVP and a Pacific Northwest all-conference selection.
